A woman bought an old Boeing 727 for $2,000 to LIVE in it… An incredible house in a Plane

It would have been easy for Jo Ann Ussery to be overcome with grief after her home was destroyed in a hurricane. Instead, she got creative. She purchased an old Boeing 727 plane for $2,000 and got to work.

She converted the plane into a home for herself and her family. The whole project cost her around $50,000. The final product was impressive and featured three bedrooms.

Jo Ann’s brother-in-law, who worked as an air traffic controller, helped her secure the plane. It took her six months to convert it. It was placed on a plot of land in Benoit, Mississippi, in 1994 for her family to live in and enjoy.

The plane home was partly over water, which helped it seem like it was mid-flight. To enter, you used a staircase in the back that utilized a garage door opener. The primary bedroom sported a hot tube.

Beyond the three bedrooms, there was a living room, kitchen and laundry room. It did not feel small because the plane was 12 feet wide in most areas. Jo Ann kept the underhead compartments and used them as storage. Some rooms in the home were completely wood paneled so you would forget you were on a plane.

Jo Ann and her family lived in the unit until it was damaged when being moved to a new location. Watch this video to see it for yourself.
