Ryan Reynolds hits back after TV legend claimed he’s ‘not so funny’ in real life

Ryan Reynolds has responded to Martha Stewart after she made a dig at him, calling him ‘not so funny’ outside of the screen.

Ouch.

Imagine being slated by none other than the famous cook, who has graced American screens for decades.

Well, he took it as well as you’d expect him to.

When the TV personality made a remark about him on the Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show, Reynolds was quick to catch wind of it.

The 83-year-old was asked which celebrity she thought the respondents had listed as the most fun people to hang out with.

Clearly, Reynolds would be on such a list.

While she correctly guessed Snoop Dogg, who she’s pretty good pals with, she was surprised to find that the Deadpool actor also made the cut.

That’s when she said: “He’s probably on the list just ’cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face.

“And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”

Stewart then said she would ‘take Ryan off [the list], and I would put in somebody else’.

Woah, that’s some serious shade.

When Reynolds found out that he had been slighted by the cooker, he responded on X, formerly Twitter, in a way only he could.

He wrote: “I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”

People online appreciated his wit and commented about the fresh beef between the pair.

One person wrote: “I know It’s been a wild year but, I did not have a ‘get off my law’ level feud between Ryan Reynolds & Martha Stewart on my 2024 bingo card.”

Another said: “Nicest way to say ‘the old woman was surprisingly sharp. good for her.’”

Someone else wrote: “She’s been to prison, so don’t mess with her. She’ll sh*nk you in the laundry room while baking a cake.”

I mean, she did spend time at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia.

The cooking expert was sent to the minimum-security correctional facility from October 2004 to March 2005 (five months) after she was found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction, and lying to federal investigators about insider trading.

When Stewart was asked who she’d have swapped Reynolds out for and she said: “George Clooney, because he’s fun. George is really nice to hang out with.”

She went on to say that Reynolds is ‘a good actor’.

She added: “He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.”

“I’m going to get in trouble,” she laughed. “He’s my neighbour.”
